Recording does not start
Open system Settings, find lilKiTTY, and allow microphone access. Return to the app and tap Record or Capture again. On iPhone and iPad, lilKiTTY also provides an Open Settings recovery button when access is off.

Local capture needs no account. These steps cover microphone recovery, saved-audio fallback, local titles and templates, source-backed records and answers, Watch installation, and deletion.
A transcript was not created
For recordings made in the iPhone or iPad app, encrypted audio remains saved if speech permission is off, the selected language is unavailable, or on-device Apple Speech cannot complete the request. Watch-local recordings are not transcribed in v1.
Pause, find, or copy transcript text
During companion capture, use the small pause or play icon beside Stop & Save; stopping while paused still saves the encrypted recording. Supported devices may show on-device transcript results while capture continues. Replaceable in-progress words are display-only; finalized local results can be settled when you stop. Afterward, open Transcript to search saved turns, copy one turn, or copy all. Search text is temporary. Copied text follows your Apple device clipboard and later paste choices. Apple Watch does not include transcript controls.
A saved recording does not play
Keep the app open and try Play again. lilKiTTY validates the encrypted recording before creating a protected temporary playback copy. If validation or decryption fails, the encrypted recording remains saved; you can keep it or delete it locally.
A title was not refined
Your note is still saved. lilKiTTY uses a local deterministic title when Apple Foundation Models is unavailable, disabled, not ready, or unsupported for the current language. Open an Untitled note once to retry local refinement.
A title edit did not look right
Tap the title to edit it. Done commits the change; Cancel restores the previous title. Your manual title always wins over a title that is still being generated.
A server or software name transcribes badly
Open capture options, choose Vocabulary, and enter one short word or phrase per line. Save affects only future on-device transcripts. It improves recognition likelihood but does not replace words, expand acronyms, change old transcripts, contact a server, or appear on Apple Watch.
A local answer found nothing
The answer is limited to written notes and transcript sources in the explicitly opened note, the notes you checked, or the private folder. Try a more specific phrase that appears there. lilKiTTY will not search the web or invent an answer, and closing the sheet clears the selection, question, and result.
Organize notes in folders
Open capture options, choose Folders, then add or edit a folder. Pick one system icon, optionally place it inside one root folder, and select any matching notes. Notes can appear in several folders. When you file an identified recurring meeting, you can optionally accept File future meetings? Later instances then use that folder locally. Undo the automatic filing or remove its membership to remove the rule. Deleting a folder keeps every note.
Open an earlier recurring meeting
Open a recurring note and expand Related meetings. lilKiTTY shows earlier active notes from the same locally identified series, newest first. The section stays hidden when there is no match. It does not read attendees or event descriptions, request another permission, search the network, or appear on Apple Watch.
A person or system record looks wrong
People and systems is built only from locally reviewed note entities. Open the source note and correct the item type, or move or delete the source if it should not participate. The view then recomputes locally. lilKiTTY does not look up profiles, employers, email addresses, avatars, or company relationships.
Create or apply a private template
Open capture options and choose Templates to add or edit a local name, optional description, and note sections. Then open a note, choose Format Note, and select the template. The description is only a reminder for you; it does not prompt a model or regenerate the note. Delete requires confirmation and never deletes a note.
Reuse a private saved question
Open capture options and choose Saved questions to add a local name, question, and one-note or multiple-note scope. In a matching Ask sheet, tap the bookmark and choose it. lilKiTTY only fills the field; review it and press Ask yourself. It never runs automatically or creates chat history.
A transcript speaker is wrong
Open Transcript and use the person menu beside that turn. You can name the speaker, move only that turn, or merge matching turns. The correction stays in the local note and never rewrites the transcript text.
Recording a meeting
lilKiTTY records only after you tap a capture action. Keep the visible recording state on screen, stop whenever needed, and provide notice or obtain consent required for your location, workplace, contract, and conversation. The app cannot verify another person's consent.
Meeting preparation is missing
Open capture options and enable Coming Up to show a small local list of upcoming titles and times on iPhone, iPad, or Mac. A preparation icon appears only when lilKiTTY finds at least two useful points in related local notes; it does not add filler or search the web. On iPhone or iPad, Meeting reminders are a separate notification switch. Denying either permission does not affect capture, saved notes, or confirmed write-only Calendar actions.
Apple Watch app is missing
Open the Watch app on the paired iPhone, find Available Apps, and install lilKiTTY. The Watch app can record and save locally without the iPhone nearby after it is installed.
Restore or delete a note
On iPhone, iPad, or Mac, choose Move to Trash. Trash appears in capture options only while it contains notes; restore within 30 days or choose permanent deletion. Recording-and-transcript retention is separately off by default and waits seven days after a change. On Apple Watch, Delete local remains permanent after confirmation. Shares or backups outside lilKiTTY must be managed in their destination.
